Society of Hermits is a papermaking, bookbinding, and fine art studio in Los Angeles County. Specializing in unique artist-driven substrates and hand-bound artist books and structures, we believe the touch of handmade paper can take a work to a higher, more complete level of finish. We work closely with artists to make personally tailored editions of paper, creating unique blends of fibre that may be a mix of a couple's favorite clothing items blended together to make paper for a wedding invitation, or using traditional birthing cloths to create unique editions. We also do small editions of binding and box building, working to create an individually tailored artist’s book or edition.
