Angles & Curves invites participants to PLAY with letterpress in unexpected ways using P22 Blox modular letterforms and the Rotary Angle Chase, a unique tool that allows type to be positioned and printed at virtually any angle within a press bed. Following an introduction to the tools, techniques & possibilities, participants will experiment with shape, pattern, layering, rotation, and composition—letting the process lead to unexpected results. There will be plenty of time to explore, print, and PLAY, with participants creating a collection of prints to take home and exchange with one another. Some letterpress experience is helpful, but curious beginners are absolutely welcome!

Meet Richard Kegler

Richard Kegler formed P22 Type Foundry in 1994 and after starting the Book Arts Center in Buffalo, New York, became the director of the Wells College Book Arts Center in Aurora, NY. Richard has spent his career combining an interest in traditional printing crafts with entrepreneaurial initiatives. His current project Dry Inc. in Rochester NY focuses on pre-digital letterpress printing technologies, typography, and new printing tool development.
